Equine Assisted Therapy is specialized for those with physical difficulties. While no technique-focused riding lessons are given, therapy focuses on how sitting on and walking the horse around provides great benefit to balance, core strength, muscle strength, and posture. Additional benefits we see are learning to quiet our hands, coordination skills, fine and gross motor skills improvement, and improving verbal communication abilities. All of this is done carefully and creatively through movement and play therapy.
Therapy will consist of a one (1) hour session, grooming and tacking the horse, specialized exercises to address specific needs, and of course a final groom and treat for the horse.
*Important Note: At this time I am unable to accept clients who would require heavy supervision, be that for physical or emotional needs.
